PvP Debuff Guide

PvP in Fallen Earth has a safety mechanism built in to prevent or at least deter higher level players from harassing lower level players. This comes in the form of the PvP Debuff, also called the Level Equalizer. It is designed so that the higher level player gets weakened as that player kills someone of a much lower level. We have included the details about how this system works in this guide.

Note: This debuff does not apply during a Clan War.

The Basic Concept:

When a player attacks a player ten or more levels below them they gain a debuff called the Level Equalizer debuff. The Level Equalizer Debuff comes in different ranks; the player receives rank 1 if they kill a player 10-11 levels below them, rank 2 if they kill a player 12 levels below the, rank 3 if they kill a player 13 levels below them and so on. These levels are cumulative, so watch out.

If a player is below the minimum level for a PvP zone, then they do not cause the anti-griefing debuff to be applied on higher level players who kill them. All PvP zones have a level range associated with them which is comparable to the surrounding content.

Some General Rules:

- The debuff reduces all attributes by 5% and skill and mutation paths by 5% per level.
- The debuff lasts 3 minutes per level.
- These debuffs persist through death.
- At level 5 and higher, characters suffer a -25% speed penalty.
- At level 10 this increases to -50%.
- At level 15 this increases to -75%.
